2. Take a moment to envision your ideal bedtime routine. What would it look like? Go ahead and jot down the activities that sound most relaxing and appealing to you right now and map out a rough schedule. The key here is to create a routine that is easy to implement even on the busiest days when your motivation is lowest. For example, if you’ve had a nonstop day, will you actually light a candle, take a hot bath, journal, and stretch before going to bed? Probably not. It might be better to commit to journaling for ten minutes and do five minutes of stretching before climbing into bed. A fifteen-minute bedtime routine is very doable, while a thirty- or forty-minute routine won’t always be possible. Stick with a plan that you can do every night, no matter what.
